what got into me?

Every day I ask the Lord to help me be strong, make wise decisions and be a nice mom. Well, I don't know what got into me last week. One day I was at Taylor's baseball game and I wasn't happy with the amount of time he had spent lately on the bench. So I thought about talking to his coach about it . As I sat there thinking about what to say I thought I would either sound stupid or start crying. But I needed to stick up for Taylor so I did it. We talked. Or I should say, I talked and he listened. Baseball season ended Friday so I don't think it mattered but Taylor knew that I did what good moms do and I stuck up for him. Then I had an issue a couple days later with a guy that is buying a house from us. He was being a jerk about the fence. So I went to the house and stood up to him and told him what I thought and eventually he saw things my way and all is well now. Then... I had to fire the yard maintanence crew at the condo's. They just weren't getting the job done that I was paying them to do. See, I don't know what got into me. I think I should take a chill pill and go plant some flowers or something. coal bucket flowers

Good for you! You can't let people take advantage of you. And coaches! I can see both view points a parents and a coach but I've learned over the years that this is not the professionals and everyone needs a chance as long as they earn it. It took me years to figure that out. You are a strong woman and you did the right things.

I don't think it's a terrible thing....do you? You are taking care of what needs to be done...not all things are pleasant that need to be addressed. I applaud you for stepping forward.

Sometimes we just have to stand up for our kids/grandkids. I am very proud of you! It's so sad that we have coaches that care more about the stupid game instead of building a child's self confidence. I can see that they have to do that at high school level, but not middle school on down, those are the building and teaching years of the up and coming little athletes. Good for you!

Pam, First of all I love you. Second of all I'm so proud to have you has a sister. Third of all, I don't write as well as you..........thank you for loving me any hooooo. I love reading your thoughts and thank you for writing them down here. Steve is missing Squirmy Worm. He'll have a new name for her in August since we won't be "trying" to change a diaper, though Ryan did give us the tip.
