Mindy's quilt

I finished Mindy's quilt made from Jay's jeans. It turned out really cute.

When Mindy was a baby, she had a special blanket that never left her side. She would pack it around where ever she went. When she would take a nap I would have to wash it and dry it and have it back beside her when she woke up. More than once I had to replace the satin trim around the edges. Mindy loved her blankie. When she was 4 years old Jay talked her into leaving her blanket under the Christmas tree for Santa. He told her that Santa needed it to stay warm while he delivered gifts to the little kids. So she did. She missed it but she was really ok with Santa having it. About 14 years later she found it tucked away in a cedar chest in my bedroom. Her eyes got big and her smile even bigger. When Mindy graduated from 8th grade, Stacy made her a flannel quilt. I think she still sleeps with that one. So, Mindy, here's a new blanket to make you smile. I hope it makes you feel secure like your blanket did when you were a little girl. You can wrap it around you and feel a hug from Dad.

Oh, what a sweet story! My kids all had blankys and favorite lovey animals. Children are so sweet. Once again, you made a beautiful blanket!

Hugs, Sharon

That's beautiful...I'm sure it will be treasured. My son carried a blankie when he was little and now he's 14 and still drags his comforter around the house...LOL.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Day!
Hugs,
robin

Martina knows how to tell it. Thanks for that blog, but mostly thanks for the blanket! I do love it with all my heart! I don't know what it is about certain blankets that make me feel good, but i love em! This one makes me feel like he is here... each square reminds me of something different. Thank You!

you dont know me. you held the door and smiled at me leaving Gran Torino tonight. just know there are strangers out there who are inspired by your strength and admire your courage to trudge forward even when it feels deep enough to spill over into your waders and leave you rooted to that spot. Courage doesn't always roar, sometimes its the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow. Hold on until the sun comes out and life twinkles again. True Love never ends.

Hey Pam,
Thanks for bringing the whole gang to the quilt show. I had such a great time seeing all of you.
Let's make a time to go to the other Joy's soon. It is so amazing to imagine that our words actually have an impact on others like they do.
I know this will be a hard week and it is going to be busy for you as well, probably a good thing.
Just wanted you to know that I am proud to be your friend!
JOY!
